Once upon a rhyme in Sicklinghall...

IT’S poetic justice!

Pupils at Sicklinghall CP School entered the Young Writers poetry competition this year and are so proud to see their poems in print now in the Yorkshire Edition of ‘Once upon a Rhyme’.

Seventeen children from Willow Class all wrote a poem as part of their homework, and these were entered into the national competition. Titles include;’ My Rabbit called Ralph’, ‘I wish I had a pet Giraffe’, ‘Goal’ and ‘Winter Poem’.

Mrs Debbie Moloney, KS2 teacher said; “We are really thrilled that ALL our pupil’s poems were chosen to be printed, and very proud to see their work in this beautiful book of poetry. The children wrote some fantastic poems and we had such fun reading them to each other.

“We plan to share the poems with all the other children in the school and we will keep a copy of the book in the school library.”
