Rudding Park Hotel, Spa & Golf supported the British Heart Foundation’s Ramp up the Red campaign on Tuesday by hosting a Ladies Golf Day & Healthy Heart Luncheon.
The event was organised by Clare Davies, Rudding Park Golf Club Lady Captain 2013-14, who has chosen the British Heart Foundation as her charity of the year. Members dressed in red and were treated to a golf tournament, a Pampered Chef healthy hearts cookery demonstration, and a two course meal followed by a raffle.
Ms Davies said: “We all know someone who’s been affected by heart disease – sadly it touches us all. The British Heart Foundation is close to my heart since my father suffered a cardiac arrest, aged 49, in 1974. He survived and enjoyed another 36 years of good quality of life and time with his family and friends thanks to vital medication and treatment, including have a pace maker fitted. I know the BHF has helped to transform the landscape of heart disease and improve outcomes for many people, including my father.
She continued: “I am thrilled to announce that this February we are raising vital funds for the BHF’s research into heart disease. Thank you to everyone who made our Ladies Golf Day & Healthy Heart Luncheon a success.”
Sharon Oakley, BHF fundraising manager for North Yorkshire, said “A huge thanks to Rudding Park, Clare Davies and her fellow golf members for their awe-inspiring fundraising efforts.”
