If you have ever wanted to get involved in fundraising, make some new friends & spend some of your spare time making a real difference to peoples lives, then this really is the perfect opportunity for you!
Tadcaster & Sherburn Communities Fundraising Group for Macmillan Cancer Support is looking for some new members. The group has been organising a wide variety of exciting and wonderful events for more than 16 years including abseils, sponsored swims & casino nights but they cannot continue making such a huge local impact without a few extra pairs of hands.
Fundraising groups really are vital to Macmillan. As well as raising over £7 million each year for people living with cancer, they raise awareness of who Macmillan are and what they do, helping them to reach more people who need their services.
Tadcaster & Sherburn Communities Fundraising Group recently presented one of their long term supporters, Freda Naylor, with an award for raising over £6000 for Macmillan through making and selling wheat bags. The award was presented by Macmillan’s Fundraising Manager Clara White, and the fundraising group’s Chairperson Janet Burgis.
Macmillan’s Fundraising Manager, Clara White, says “This committee has a wonderful & dedicated chairperson and fantastic treasurer who just need the help of some more local volunteers. Please help us raise funds (and a smile) for people affected by cancer by helping this group continue beyond their 16 years of fantastic fundraising. We are all affected by cancer and we can all help.”
Macmillan’s primary goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer but as they get less than 3% of their income from the government, they simply cannot do this without the support of people like you. So what are you waiting for? Please pick up the phone and contact Clara White on 07809 554960 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
