Scouts in Wetherby are all set for a fun adventure weekend this summer.
Challenge 14 will take place in Bramham Park between July 11-13, with around 2,000 scouts expected to attend.
Local councillors for the area have awarded an extra £2,000 funding to help pay for some of the activities at the camp.
The event is open to all members of the Scout Association in Wetherby District and other Leeds Districts.
Councillor Gerald Wilkinson (Chair, North East Outer Area Committee) said: “I’m really pleased that we can offer our support for next year’s Challenge 14 event.
“I hope that the Scouts have an enjoyable weekend and get the chance to try a range of camp activities.”
Councillor Matthew Robinson (Conservative, Harewood ward) said: “Scouts from across the Wetherby and Harewood districts and beyond can attend the event, so I’m delighted that we could agree some extra funding to help with the cost of putting on the activities, which include a high ropes course and other challenges.”
The North East Outer Area Committee agreed £1,900 from their Youth Activity Fund (split equally between the Wetherby and Harewood wards) for the Challenge 14 weekend.
