Wetherby Silver Band made a clean sweep recently but not of musical accolades.

After the old vacuum packed in Bright Ideas owner Steve Palmer donated a new cleaner and is pictured handing it over to band chairman Stephen Ramsbottom.

The band, which was busy over Christmas, is now perparing for the Yorkshire area championships at Bradford on March 1.

But, after the departure of conductor and Musical director Alan Seymour, they are in need of an urgent replacement.

“Our thanks go to Alan for his work over the last four years and for the improvement he made to the standard of the band,” said a spokesman.
