Wetherby Golf Club has been shortlisted for the national Golfers’ Choice Golf Club Awards.

The unique scheme measures the quality of facilities, customer service and value for money provided by clubs by asking players to rate them on an online questionnaire.

Over 100 clubs across the UK took part in the competition during 2013.

The top 10 clubs have been shortlisted based on the ratings players have awarded to courses they have played.

Club manager, Darren Tear said: “We are very proud to have reached this far in the competition.

“It says a lot about the way we manage our club and how we try to create a top-class experience for all the players who play here.”

Simon Brown who owns and runs the Awards for Business scheme said there was no better endorsement for a club than from its customers.

“We believe it’s not just the quality of the course that makes a good golf club, it’s a combination of customer service, facilities and value for money which all combine to give a great golfing experience to every player.

“Getting it right requires a lot of hard work from staff and management alike.”
