Spring lunch to stoke appeal

St James’ Church, Wetherby is holding a spring luncheon on Thursday April 24 at noon at Wetherby Golf Club.

The speaker is Maureen Sutcliffe who will be speaking on the subject of “The Good Life” which will involve a humorous account of how she and her parents undertook a big life change to become self-sufficient.

Tickets are £22 which includes a two-course meal, coffee and mints.

And they are available from Castlegate Stationers, Castlegate Toys and St James’ Parish Office, Wetherby.

Proceeds will go to St James’ Church for all Seasons appeal which aims to raise money for vital boiler replacement, to ensure the church can continue to offer a warm welcome to the whole community all year round.

After launching last autumn the church has raised over £20,000 towards the £150,000 target.

And on Wednesday May 21 at 7.30pm there will be a men’s pie and pea supper at Wetherby Sports Association.
