Family activities will be delivered at the Wincanton Sainsbury’s depot in Sherburn in Elmet next month.
And visitors will be able to get a behind the scenes look at life at the depot during the annual 0pen day on June 8.
The event will also be the welcoming party for the site’s “Paris to Sherburn” cyclists team of mainly truck drivers who are going to cycle from Paris to Sherburn, setting out on Sunday June 1. Their target is to raise £20,000 for Cyclists Fighting Cancer and Sport Relief.
The team will cover some 600 plus miles over eight days, to tie in with the Tour de France Grand Depart being staged from Leeds the following month on the July 5.
Other attractions at the open day include depot tours, games, bouncy castle, food, stalls, face painting, falconry, and a chance to drive on one of the site’s HGVs, providing they have both parts to their licence.
Entry on the day is free and all proceeds made on the stalls or games will be donated to Cyclists Fighting Cancer.
