Well over 600 restaurants from all over Yorkshire were nominated for a prestigious YEP Oliver Award but only one from the Wetherby District has made it to the final shortlist.
The Fox & Hounds at Walton is well known locally but acclaim is now gathering from further afield.
A regular fixture in the Michelin Guide, the family run eatery has now been shortlisted in “The Best of British” category in the annual Oliver Awards which many now see as the Oscars of the Yorkshire Dining Scene.
The family business is owned and run by Mum, Pam and brothers Alan and Gareth Lamb.
Alan, who is also currently the Mayor of Wetherby, said: “We were thrilled to find out we’d been shortlisted for this prestigious award, particularly as it recognises a crucial part of what we do, taking fantastic local produce and cooking and presenting it well.
“We don’t actively go chasing awards so it’s great to have such an acknowledgement.
“The real reward is that our customers keep coming back again and again.”
The winner of the sixth annual Oliver Awards will be revealed at an awards ceremony on March 10.
