James Phillip Gwynn, 27, of 198 Newby Crescent, Harrogate, was fined £130 for possession of ketamine. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.

James Michael Keogh of 7-8 Bower Street, Harrogate, was sentenced to 15 weeks’ imprisonment for stealing a mobile phone worth £150 from Grove House, Harrogate, while subject to a previous community order. He was given a consecutive three-week sentence for the previous offence of stealing food worth £2 from the BP filling station in North Street, Ripon. Three further concurrent sentences of three weeks each were imposed for previous convictions of stealing food from shops in Ripon.

Paul Regan Mayne, 52, of 1 Woodlands Cottages, Flaxby, was given a 20-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months for driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and costs of £85. He was disqualified from driving for four years. No separate penalty was given for driving without a licence or insurance, or for driving without due care and attention.

Nathan Clifford Millers, 50, of Flat 6, Brandon Lodge, 3 Lancaster Park Road, Harrogate, was fined £80 for producing three cannabis plants. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85, and magistrates ordered that the plants be forfeited and destroyed.

Liam Andrew Smith, 19, of 21 Oak Road, Ripon, was given a six-month conditional discharge for damaging a bedroom door at a property in Ripon. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85.

Brian Stanley Gregory, 33, of no fixed address, was given a two-week prison sentence for stealing a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 worth £190. He was given a consecutive six-week sentence for possession of an offensive weapon – a large metal post – at the Wesley Chapel in Oxford Street, Harrogate. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80.

Kenneth Marsh, 30, of no fixed address, was given a two-week prison sentence for stealing three bottles of alcohol worth £51 from the Co-op in High Street, Stokesley. He was ordered to pay compensation of £13. A consecutive two-week sentence was imposed for stealing two Yankee Candles worth £43.98 from Style gift shop in the Market Place, Stokesley.

Dayle Anthony Blinkhorn, 28, of Flat 7, 27 Alexander Drive, Cholton, Manchester, was fined £70 for failing to provide a specimen of blood at Harrogate Police Station after being stopped by police. He was ordered to pay costs of £25 and a victim surcharge of £20. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, to be reduced by three months on completion of an approved course. He was fined a further £25 for failing to surrender to custody at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court. No separate penalty was imposed for driving without insurance in Wetherby Road, Harrogate.
