The Harrogate Dog Show is returning for 2014.
Organisers have added extra classes and hope more local businesses will help to build on the success of the sun-kissed 2013 event.
Verity Watts of Shampooches and Pooches Galore owner Kim Metcalfe set the show up last year after Harrogate was named one of the UK’s most dog-friendly towns.
And pampered pooches from across the district are expected to make their way to Harrogate Rugby Club’s Claro Road ground on May 25 for the show.
The organisers said: “We already have lots of people signing up for stalls but would love more local businesses to get involved.
“We are also looking for volunteers to help us on the day.
“We have lots of extra classes this year to make the show bigger and better.”
In total, 18 classes will be judged in three rings - and your Harrogate Advertiser series has been asked to judge one of the categories.
A reporter will be there on the day so let us know if you plan to attend.
Classes include best sausage catcher, saddest eyes, best puppy, odd couple, most like owner and of course, the coveted best in show.
Stalls offering pet advice and goods will run throughout the day.
Vets4Pets are sponsoring the event and will be the on-site vet for the day.
Charities Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Yorkshire Air Ambulance will benefit this year.
