Organisers of the 69th Bardsey village show said last Saturday’s event proved to be a great success with a near record-breaking number of entries.
Despite heavy rain the day before the show, supporters managed to pack the display tables with many beautiful blooms and lots of quality fruit and vegetables.
A spokesman said: “As in previous years, local children exhibited their craftwork, with decorated eggs, colourful paintings and very neat handwriting much to the fore and with parents and grandparents helping to ensure that exhibits reached the village hall on time.
“The photography section also proved popular together with the cookery classes, which saw many entries including 16 banana cakes, numerous victoria sponges, plates of cherry scones and piles of bread loaves, and ensured fierce competition.
“The committee would like to congratulate all our prizes winners and give their grateful thanks to everyone who entered and to all those who helped in any way to make the show a success.”
