Colleagues in Boston Spa join over 5,000 Lloyds Banking Group volunteers in support of Give and Gain Day, the UK’s national day of employee volunteering.
And 12 local bank workers gave up their time to work at Primrose Lane Primary School in the village carrying out a variety of tasks around the adventure play areas from staining rail fencing to planting up containers.
Graham Lindsay, Director, Responsible Business and Community Affairs, said: “One of the best ways businesses can support their local communities is by encouraging employees, customers and suppliers to use their skills and time through volunteering.
“Through our Helping Britain Prosper Plan we are committed to being the banking group that brings communities closer together to help them thrive.
“Give and Gain Day provides the perfect focal point for our colleagues to help us achieve this ambition.”
Earlier this year Lloyds launched its Helping Britain Prosper Plan, a set of seven public commitments designed to address some of the big issues facing Britain today.
This includes a commitment to support colleagues to contribute 2.3million paid volunteer hours to 10,000 local community projects by 2020.
