a NEW landlord has said that he hopes to rebuild his pub business to become the heart of the community.
Martin Spalding said the Duke of Wellington in East Keswick was run down when he moved in three months ago. But after much hardwork and introducing a new chef and menu, from locally sourced produce, he believes he is on target. “We hope it will become the hub of the community. We also want to make it the place for food in the local area,” said Martin.
“We have already seen customers drifting back.”
The former Leeds-based restaurant owner said they were looking to carry out a scheme of refurbishment in the coming months.
