TEMPORARY car parking facilities were introduced this week as work begins on a new cancer unit at Harrogate Hospital.
The first phase of building work on the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Cancer unit has forced the trust to make temporary changes to patient and visitor parking.
Limited parking will be available in the front car park on Lancaster Park Road with additional spaces in the car park off Willaston Crescent and at the Heatherdene site with signs indicating the locations of the new spaces between December 2011 and June 2012. Disabled parking will be unnaffected by the work.
Deputy director of planning Angela Gillett said: “There will inevitably be some disruption during the works, but plans have been put in place to ensure that this is kept to a minimum.
“We are very grateful for the patience of our patients, visitors, neighbours and staff as we go about this major project to build to make cancer services in Harrogate world class.”
