Talent night set to aid mum of one

A fundraising talent competition is set to raise money for a mum who remains in hospital seven months after suffering sudden life-changing brain bleeds.

A panel of Yorkshire’s favourite soap stars will be judging 12 acts at the Yorkshire has Talent’ event on Saturday January 10 at the Engine Shed in Wetherby,

Proceeds will go towards funding major rehabilitation for mum-of-one Gemma Newman, 40, of Chapel Allerton, who collapsed after suffering brain bleeds in May and has undergone life-saving operations.

Friends who have organised the contest say tickets are sold out but more donations are still needed.

Friend Kendra Verity said; “We have been overwhelmed by the level of support for Yorkshire Has Talent.”
