A charity dragon boat race to raise money for Martin House Children’s Hospice will take place on May bank holiday weekend.
The fundraiser, which will raise cash for the Clifford-based children’s hospice, is entering a number of local teams from across the district to take part.
A number of businesses and teams have come forward to enter the race - which will include an ornate Chinese dragon boat race over a 200 metre course at Roundhay Park, Leeds.
Caroline Hudson from Martin House said “We are delighted to have received such an excellent response to our call for crews from organisations across the region.
“The challenge promises some spectacular racing and a fantastic day out for all the teams and their families.”
The hospice needs £4.5 million annually to run the service it provides at its purpose built hospice in Boston Spa, Wetherby.
