A Boston Spa business is to make strides in helping to raise money for Cancer Reasearch UK.

Owner of The Retreat in the High Street, Lynn Warren and colleague Caroline Jones are to lead a group of eight customers through the Bramham Fun Run on October 6.

Lynn said: “Cancer is a cause dear to my heart. I have had family members affected.

“I have been fundraising over the last seven years on a variety of events and thought I would do Bramham.”

Lynn, who has owned the Retreat for the last year after working at the previous beauty business for 16 years, added that they would be walking and running the picturesque course through Bramham Park.

“We are aiming to raise over £100 in sponsorship,” added Lynn.

Bramham Fun Run has a 5 and 10k course that people can run or walk.

Last year the event, sponsored by Wetherby-based estate agents Beadnall and Copley, raised £7,500 for Cancer Research UK, based at Leeds St James.
