Amateur bakers will be put to the test with the first Great Boston Bake Off taking place this month.
The baking competition, organised by charity Wetherby In Support of the Elderly (WISE) will take place on September, Tuesday 24 at Boston Spa Village Hall.
There are four baking categories on the day, which include fruit-based, chocolate based and sponge based. Each category winner will be rewarded with afternoon tea for two at the WISE Owl Cafe with entries from noon until 2pm. The overall winner will receive a bottle of champagne. Prizes will be presented at 3.30pm.
The event will be hosted by the WISE Owl cafe and all proceeds will go to Martin House Children’s Hospice.
Judges of the competition will will be Duncan Wood from ITV’s Calendar and Robin Wraith, head chef at Martin House.
