Competition winners from a Wetherby School were treated to a trip to an adventure playground.
The ten winners from Deighton Gates Primary School visited the adventure playground at Thorp Arch.
They had all taken part in a ‘Design the Playground’ competition organised by headteacher Claire Harrison, who is raising money for new playground equimpemt at the school.
A total of a 100 children took part in the event, which started in February. Children could draw, paint or model their ideal playground at home and then bring them in.
Cath Mulvihill, an administrator at the school, said: “The children really enjoyed the competition and we had lots of entries this year, all the children in different years took part .”
The school is doing other activities to raise money for the new classroom equipment including an adventure trail- a themed playground adventure kit.
