Staff and regulars at the White Swan in Wighill near Tadcaster have donated £600 to Martin House children’s hospice and the British Heart Foundation. The money was raised through various activities at a Halloween night at the public house and restaurant. One of the fundraising activities included two regulars, Alan Holmes and Keith Clow, having their chests waxed.

Landlords Simon and Julie Long said: “We would like to thank those who took part, donated gifts for the raffle and helped to organise the fantastic evening. Their Support showed us that our pub is still very much at the heart of the local community.”
