Excitement is mounting at Wetherby Methodist Church as the redeveloped centre nears its official opening - with the building open for anybody in the community to have a look around tomorrow

The new frontage has been of great interest to many passers-by, and the side entrance leads to an area which links all parts of the centre together.

The chapel will now seat 200 people, with chairs which make it easy to alter the layout according to the needs of any group using it.

Upgrades to the sound system, heating and lighting have also been carried out.

A new private room that will seat 24 people has been added, with refreshment facilities close by.

These are in addition to the main hall and the meeting room that have been used by many community groups for many years and will be a great addition to the facilities available for use by community and social needs groups of all kinds .

The church invites anybody who would like to look at the building to go along on Saturday, June 18 between 9.30am and 2.30pm when they can have a good look round as well as enjoying the usual Saturday coffee shop.

Special services are to be held on Sunday, June 19. The building will be rededicated by the Chairman of the Methodist District, Rev Stephen Burgess at 10am and at 6pm there will be an ecumenical service of thanksgiving for all the community.
