Pupils and staff from Riverside Primary School, Tadcaster, marked the end of a highly successful year in style and said a few sad farewells too with a special end of year party.
Parents of the year six pupils, along with the Friends of Riverside, organised an 80s themed disco with a feast of savouries, sweets, themed non-alcoholic cocktails, with a mix of 80s and modern music, special cakes and a chocolate fountain.
Ian Yapp, headteacher of Riverside Primary School said: “This year group have been an absolute delight, involving themselves in all aspects of school life with a real passion and commitment.
“Just a glance around the pupils shows how much fun they have had this evening – we have suits, ball dresses and some very whacky 80s gear ranging from Freddie Mercury to Rambo, leg warmers to Blues Brothers.
“I wish each and every one of our pupils all the very best in their new schools in September.”
