St Aidan’s Church of England High School has been celebrating a year of success with its A level awards evening.

In the first story in our coverage of secondary school awards in Harrogate, St Aidan’s evening was attended by about 200 year 13 students and their families and friends, all of whom were thrilled to commemorate the success of 2014.

Editor of the Harrogate Advertiser Series Jean MacQuarrie was on hand as guest speaker to take part in the presentation recording achievements and successes over the students’ time at the school.

St Aidan’s headteacher John Wood said: “This has once again been an outstanding academic year in terms of academic excellence.

“90 per cent of students obtaining places at a university either this year or next, 92 per cent of which got into their first or second choice university.

“Congratulations to all the students on their results as well as their achievements outside the classroom. I wish them every success on their chosen course.”
