St Aidan’s Church of England High School welcomed the Band of the RAF Regiment to the school on Wednesday February 12 to perform for Year 7 students and members of the school’s 60-strong Junior Band.

The Band of the RAF Regiment is based at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire and travels widely, including tours of Europe, Canada, Cyprus, the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, as well as visits to Belize, Hong Kong, Iraq and South Korea.

At home the Band’s wide variety of engagements include state visits, changing the guard at both Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, radio and TV broadcasts and many other concerts.

In recent years, St Aidan’s Symphonic Wind Band has shared the Royal Hall stage with the Band of the Royal Marines, Scotland.
