Gateways School Early Years pupils recently presented their annual summer concert - Animal Antics.

The concert of animal related songs, dances and poems was the conclusion of hours of rehearsals for the Harewood-based pupils who also created animal bunting.

Head of Early Years Mrs Carol Bartle, who organised the event, said: “In terms of the children’s learning and development doing such a concert, performing before a packed audience, promotes an incredible amount of self-esteem and confidence.

“The children really rose to the occasion and that fills me with pride and satisfaction.”

The concert, which took place in the school’s Performing Arts Centre, was attended by a large audience of family and friends and involved 65 children, aged three to five, in Reception and Pre-Reception.

The children chose the theme of the concert and selected all the songs themselves.
