Wetherby High pupils recently gave a warm Yorkshire welcome to 29 French students from twin town Privas.
Teachers at the school said the exchange has been a huge success with some planning further meetings with their French counterparts from the College Bernard de Ventadour.
High school spokesman Chris Patchett said: “The French visit to Wetherby was a response to a visit to Privas made by the Wetherby High School students at the end of March.
“Staying with French students of their own age, the English students enjoyed the experience of the life of a French teenager at first-hand, with the aim of making life-long friendships with their French exchange partners and their families.
“Indeed several have already made plans to return to France in August to stay with their new friends.”
The French party enjoyed a tour of Wetherby and day trips.
“They were all impressed by the warm welcome they received,” added Chris.
