Sherburn High students are celebrating for the second consecutive year after receiving their AS and A2 results.
More than a third of exam entries at A*, A and B which has surpassed the school’s own challenging target for these students.
Particularly impressive results were achieved by Harry Copley (A*, A, B) who is going to study Mathematics at Bath University; Lewis Cole (A, B, B) who will be studying Physics at Nottingham University; Katy Taswell (A, B, B) who will be reading Biomedical Sciences at Sheffield University; James Cole (A, B, C) who goes on to study Computer Science at Newcastle University; Martha Fletcher (A, B, C) who will study Art and Phil Tanner (A, B, C) who plans to go into accountancy. Other impressive results were achieved by Beth Chawner (A,B,C,C), Chloe Harmer (A,C,C) and Reece Popplewell (A,C,C).
Headteacher Martyn Sibley was absolutely delighted and thrilled with the achievement of all students.
He said: “Virtually everyone was able to gain a place at their university of choice with only three students having to go through the UCAS clearing process this year.”
He went on to pay tribute to the hard work put in by students and teaching staff to ensure these excellent outcomes.
He said: “It has been a pleasure to work with such a committed group of young people. We will miss them very much and wish them all the best for the future.”
