Welcome to the Harrogate and District Volunteering Oscars.

Now in their fifth year, the Oscars aim to celebrate the many unsung heroes and heroines in our community – those people who do so much to help others, and give their time freely as volunteers to so many good causes.

They are organised by former Mayor of Harrogate, County Coun John Fox, with Ackrill Media Group and the Harrogate and Ripon Councils for Voluntary Service.

We are seeking nominations from all sectors of the community, and from all areas in the Harrogate district, including Ripon, Nidderdale, Knaresborough, Boroughbridge and Masham.
All the nominated people will be invited to the special Harrogate and District Volunteering Oscars awards evening at the Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate on Friday, November 16.

Last year more than 300 people enjoyed the ceremony.

There are categories for Young Volunteer of the Year, Care Volunteer of the Year, Community Volunteer of the Year, Environment Volunteer of the Year, Sports Volunteer, Unsung Heroes in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Boroughbridge and Nidderdale, New Volunteer of the Year, Trustee of the Year, Organisation of the Year, Corporate Engagement Award, Volunteer of the Year and Lifetime Volunteer.

To nominate a candidate for a Volunteer Oscar, click here, or write to the Harrogate Advertiser at 1 Cardale Park, HG3 1RZ. Make sure to include your contact details as well.
