The final date for nominations for the 2011-2012 Wetherby Townsperson of the Year award is on Friday, July 6.
Wetherby Lions, who organise the award, will be looking for someone who has done that extra bit for the community or who has helped people within the community in a voluntary capacity.
Following the deadline, nominations will be scrutinised by a panel of distinguished Wetherby people and led by the Lions’ president and including last year’s winners.
A special event will take place in Wetherby Town Hall to present the award to the new Townsperson of the Year.
Nominations for the Townsperson should include - the name of the person you are nominating, address, telephone number and your address and telephone number.
Forms are available from the Wetherby News office and the Town Library and should be returned to those points.
Wetherby Lions covers the town and the surrounding villages of Walton, Thorp Arch, Boston Spa, Collingham, Clifford and Bramham.
It is part of Lions International and helps to raise funds for charities and not for profit organisations.
