YOUNGSTERS were treated to a farm animal display, enjoyed a raffle and tried their luck at the tombola at a school fair that raised £1,800.
There were also cream teas, a barbecue on offer and a bouncy disco at the Crossley Street School summer fair on Saturday, June 30.
The summer fair is organised by the Parent Teacher Association, a committee made up of parents and teachers at the school.
PTA member Carolyn Burland, who helped organise the fair, said: “What a turn out for the summer fair, even the sun managed it!
“The day was a big success. The PTA work really well as a team to get these events running smoothly for the children.”
This year, the committee have raised around £8,500 for the school with the money going to a variety of projects including Diamond Jubilee events, a year six leavers trip and a summer cinema trip.
Future events organised by the Crossley Street PTA will include a night of magic on Friday, October 12, when a magician will entertain all the family.
