The 41-year-old local man was arrested following the incident at Oceans 11, Kings Road, on Saturday night.

Police were called around 8pm after reports that a man had entered the premises and, after a brief conversation, produced a knife and attacked the shop owner and a co-worker. The attack then spilled into the street before the police arrived and arrested a man with a knife.

The two men, aged 41 and 26, were taken to Harrogate District Hospital with injuries consistent with a knife attack. They have since been discharged.

Extra police patrols have been put in place in the area, but officers believe it was an isolated attack.
