Youngsters, parents and staff at a Boston Spa nursery made the most of the last few days of summer by holding their very own summer fair at the weekend.
Twinkles Nursery, based on Clifford Road in Boston Spa, held the fair on Saturday and hosted a range of fun-filled activities for the youngsters in aid of the Sadie Rose Clifford Charity.
Deputy manager at Twinkles Nursery, Kirstie Stericker, said; “The day went amaxingly well and it was a real family atmosphere with lots of parents and grandparents coming along. The weather couldn’t have been better. We have been organising the day for so long and a lot of hard work has gone into it and the event has been brilliant.”
The day kicked off with a sponsored walk starting from Deepdale Park through the village of Boston Spa and back to the nursery at St Mary’s C of E School where the activities began.
Activities throughout the day included a raffle, tombola, face painting and hook-a-duck, a bouncy castle and craft tent where children could make piggy banks, treasure chests, bags and book marks from workshop materials.
More than £900 was raised for two-year-old Sadie Rose, who live in Knaresborough, and was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Neuroblastoma and is currently undergoing gruelling radiotherapy for her cancer. To read more about Sadie’s story, visit www.sadierosecliffordappeal.co.uk.
