More than 20 motorists were caught breaking the speed limit in Boston Spa’s High Street last Thursday teatime.
Wetherby police PCSOs Becky Jackson and Mohammed Akash recorded the vehicles travelling at 35mph and over near the Deepdale Community Centre at about 4.20pm.
PCSO Jackson said: “Some people don’t realise how fast they are driving, some don’t even care, all they care about is getting home or to work on time.
“Surely its better to arrive safely that not to arrive at all.
“Drivers need to be more considerate driving through villages especially right next to a children’s community centre.”
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the drivers concerned will be issued a letter advising them on their driving.
