Spate of thefts from vehicles in Wetherby

A number of thefts from vehicles in the area have been reported to Wetherby police from May 26 to June 1.

Beat manager Steve Atkinson said that overnight May 27 and 28 four vehicles were broken into.

Thieves broke into a Ford Transit van on Sandbeck industrial estate in Wetherby and stole a satellite navigation system and an I-Pod was stolen from a vehicle in Audby Lane.

A window of a vehicle parked on Willow Crescent in Clifford was smashed and a handbag stolen and entry was forced to a vehicle in Mill Dam and a satnav stolen.

Police also said that overnight May 31 and June 1 the passenger side wing mirror was taken from a Ford Transit van on Grosvenor Terrace, Wetherby.

Garden furniture worth £200 was taken from an address on Quarry Hill in Wetherby.

Mountain bikes were taken from an address on Ceres Road and in a separate incident on Hallfield Lane in Wetherby, on May 28.

Sometime during May 26 a person attempted to force a door lock on a summer house at Beech Spinney, Wetherby.

Overnight May 27 and 28 a person forced a garage door at The Chase, Wetherby and stole power tools.

A shop on Albion Street, Cliffor was broken into overnight May 27 and 28 and charity collection boxes taken.

In the early hours of May 26 a person set fire to a wheely bin on Law Close in Wetherby.
