Man arrested after tractor death crash

A Boroughbridge man in his 70s died after a head on crash with a tractor yesterday evening (Thursday February 5).

The man’s yellow Fiat Panda crashed with a red tractor on the B6265 at Great Ouseburn just before 6pm and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The tractor driver, a 33 year old man from the Leeds area, was uninjured and arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail while the investigation into the incident continues.

A woman passenger in the Fiat Panda, also in her 70s and from Boroughbridge, was taken to hospital for a check-up.
