The following were dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on April 14:

Richard Anthony Cordice, 38, of 5 St Andrews Road, Harrogate, was given a six-month community order for driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60. He was disqualified from driving for 36 months, to be reduced by 36 weeks on completion of an approved course.

Matthew George James Sunderland, 32, of 16 Lupton Close, Glasshouses, was fined £195 for failing to stop after an accident in Dacre. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85, and five points were added to his licence. No separate penalty was imposed for driving without due care and attention.

Roland Stanley Gordon, 39, of 8 Byland Place, Harrogate, was fined £210 for possession of diamorphine. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £21 and costs of £85. Magistrates ordered that the drug be forfeited and destroyed.

Patrick Sean Mason, 25, of Flat 4, 5-7 Stockwell Lane, Knaresborough, was given a 12-month community order for stealing a till drawer from Primas restaurant in Kirkgate, Ripon. He was made subject to a three-month curfew and ordered to complete a course of treatment for drug dependency. Magistrates ordered him to pay compensation of £85. For stealing a four-pack of Special Brew, along with a single can, from the One Stop Shop in Knaresborough Road, Harrogate, he was ordered to pay compensation of £9.60 and £2.29. Magistrates also imposed a victim surcharge of £60.

The following was dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on April 13:

Keith Chapman, 59, of 71 Olive Grove, Harrogate, was given a 12-month conditional discharge for using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Bower Street, Harrogate. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £200.

The following were dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on April 12:

Nathan John Welbourn, 22, of Flat 4, 36 High Street, Starbeck, was given a 14-day curfew for failing to comply with the terms of a community order. He was ordered to pay £40 costs.

Adam Ellmore, 20, of Rosslyn House, New Road, Scotton, was fined £285 for driving while under the influence of alcohol in Rudding Lane, Harrogate. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £29 and costs of £85, and was disqualified from driving for 18 months, to be reduced by 18 days on completion of an approved course.

Christopher James Pratt, 20, of 6 Greenwood Avenue, Pateley Bridge, was sentenced to eight weeks’ imprisonment for failing to comply with the terms of a community order imposed for a previous conviction for assaulting a woman by beating her and failing to surrender to custody.
