Police have issued a warning to residents to keep their property safe following thefts from gardens between June 21 and 22 in Sherburn-in-Elmet.
In each case Selby police said thieves stole outdoors chairs, tables and benches, including a wicker set and brown glass top table with furniture, from properties on Pasture Avenue.
PC Dion Wood, of Sherburn-in-Elmet Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you witnessed anyone acting in an unusual manner at the time of the thefts, I ask you to come forward and contact the police.
“I also need to speak to anyone who may have been offered the stolen items for sale.”
PC Wood added: “I would like to take this opportunity to remind homeowners that that they can help prevent themselves from becoming victims of crime, by locking garden furniture in sheds when it isn’t being used.”
Anyone with information should contact Sherburn-in-Elmet police, select option two and ask for Dion Wood, email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 12130101959.
PC Dion Wood added: “Residents can visit the force’s website, where they will be able to take a short survey about their property’s security and how they can make life more difficult for opportunist thieves.”
