Police are hunting the driver and passenger of a car that smashed into a shop on Starbeck High Street on Sunday morning.
Police were called at around 12.20am on January 10 by concerned residents after watching a black BMW crash into the shop window of Staiano Motorcycles.
After leaving the road at speed before the crash, CCTV captured the driver and passenger leaving the car and making off from the scene on foot.
Police Constable Adam Smith tweeted that the vehicle was later removed for CSI to investigate and said they had already attempted to interview a suspect.
He tweeted: "Damage to street furniture following the #Starbeck RTC. Thank your chosen deity no-one was walking past at the time."
Anyone who saw the incident, or has any information which could assist the investigation, should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 12160005223.
