Cars damaged in station car park

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for information after two cars left at South Milford station were vandalised – costing the owners over £3,500 in repairs.

PC Dave Knox, from York BTP, is investigating the incident, which took place on Friday, January 24.

He said: “The two vehicles – both Ford Focus – were left securely locked in the station car park.

“At some point between 6.45 and 10.15pm, the cars were vandalised causing substantial damage as windows were smashed and sprayed.

“The estimated damage is thought to be in excess of £3,500.”

Officers are continuing their enquiries and asking anyone who may have been close by to the station to call police.

PC Knox added: “If you were at the station on Friday evening and saw anyone acting suspiciously, I’d urge you to come forward and speak to officers.”
