Car thieves strike in Spofforth and Tockwith

Burglars struck in Spofforth this morning (March 3) stealing a car, and detectives are investigating.

In the early hours, officers located a beige Nissan Qashqai in the Gipton area of Leeds, which had been stolen during a burglary in Spofforth overnight.

In a similar incident a red Mazda 6 estate was taken when thieves targeted a property on Prince Rupert Drive in Tockwith, at some time overnight between February 25 and February 26.

The vehicle has not been recovered and officers believe it could be in the West Yorkshire area.

Detectives from Harrogate CID are investigating the burglaries and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Officers are also urging people to be vigilant and mindful of their security arrangements at this time.
