Battery theft from Tadcaster

Tadcaster police are appealing for information after a burglary and theft of batteries in the town.

It happened between 7pm on Sunday 21 September and 8am on Monday 22 September, at Tadcaster Household Waste Recycling, Station Road.

Thieves stole a large number of car batteries, valued at several hundred pounds.

PC Heather Wilkinson, of Tadcaster Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you were in the area of the recycling centre during the time of the burglary, I ask you to come forward if you noticed anyone acting in a suspicious manner.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who has been offered batteries in unusual circumstances and ask that they get in touch as soon as possible.”
