A bake-off competition at a Collingham school proved to be a recipe for success.
Youngsters from the Lady Elizabeth Hastings’ C of E school baked a range of delicious creations in their school house colours of red, yellow, green and blue.
The event, which took place last Friday, will raise money for the Leeds Children’s Charity as well as funds for the school.
Year 3 pupil Toby Harrison scooped the main prize for his colourful cake creation with eight other youngster winning top treats.
Headteacher Briony Robertson said: “I think it is amazing and the children have been so excited about it.
“They have worked really hard and their time and effort has now paid off.”
Staff and children wowed the judges with creations which included ladybirds, chicks, river scenes and jumper.
Teacher Kara Swift told the News: “The children have wanted to do this all year, it has been their idea.
“They have all created something now which they can be proud of.”
