A 19-year-old man has been arrested after two children were approached in a park in Wetherby.
Police were contacted after an 11-year-old boy and an eight-year-old girl were approached by a man off Hallfield Lane at about 4.20pm on Wednesday September 4.
The children were alarmed and ran home and police were informed.
A 19-year-old man from Leeds was later arrested in connection with the incident.
He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Wetherby police Insp Paul Dwyer praised the actions of the children and parents in reporting the incident.
Insp Dwyer said: “We would like to praise the sensible actions of parents which allowed us the right process to respond to this.”
