Walton Park Junior Cricket Club played host to an impressive piece of silverware recently.

During one of their first pre-season indoor training nets sessions at Boston Spa School Sports Hall, youngsters got the chance to take a closer look at the County Cricket Championship trophy which Yorkshire CCC won last summer.

The club is offering junior coaching for all levels, from total beginners to experienced juniors at the Monday nets sessions.

Training times: are 5.30-6.30pm, Under-9s – anyone school year 4 and below; 6.30-7.30pm, Under-11s and first year Under-13s, school years 5, 6 and 7; 7.30-8.30pm, second year Under-13s and Under 15s, school year 8 upwards.

A club spokesman explained that coaching is led by ProCoach Yorkshire, the official coaching provider for Yorkshire County Cricket Club, together with our club ECB qualified coaches.

The club has teams at Under 9, 11, 13 and 15 in the Wetherby Junior Cricket League and York District Junior League. New players are always welcome, especially those aged seven to nine years. For more details contact: Paul Hudson on 07973 138994 or Simon Dobson on 07968 746776.
