POLICE and council teams have joined forces to crackdown on fly-tipping and graffiti in Tadcaster.
Launched by the town’s Safer Neighbourhood Team and Street Scene workers from Selby District Council, those responsible are being warned they face a £200 fine or three months in jail.
“We recognise this type of inconsiderate behaviour has a negative impact on the community and the environment and we will do everything possible to catch those responsible and eliminate the problem,” said PCSO Kelly Vause, one of the officers behind the initiative.
“We will be carrying out checks each month and ensuring any rubbish is removed promptly. This will also help us locate any hotspot areas and take positive action.”
Anyone with any information about fly-tipping and graffiti should phone the Safer Neighbourhood Team on 0845 6060 247 or Selby District Council on 01757 705101
