Two of Selby District Council’s brand new Community Officers will be out and about next week meeting Tadcaster residents at the area’s next Community Engagement Forum.
On Monday at the Riley Smith Hall, Dominic Richardson and Ruth Beckwith will be explaining how their roles can help residents with issues.
Dominic explained: “We know residents are aware of the recent changes at the Council and we are looking forward to being able explain how Community Officers are working in Tadcaster and the surrounding villages.
“Community Officers are new roles in the council and reflect the fact that we want to deliver the right services at the right time out there in the community.”
Ruth added: “We have had - and will continue to have - a significant amount of training on all the different issues that we might face on a typical day out talking to residents and dealing with any and all issues that crop up.”
The roles were created following the restructure of Selby District Council, in order to meet the £3 million of savings required following the cuts from central Government.
The theme of the forthcoming meeting, which will start at 7pm, is Working Together.
Another item on the agenda is how speeding data is collected and used, and the forthcoming digital switchover.
