St Edward’s Roman Catholic Church: services for the coming week are as follows: Saturday, September 14 6pm vigil mass, Sunday, September 15 10am, Monday, September 16 to Friday, September 20 9.30am (10am on Thursday).

Clifford Methodist Church: on Sunday, September 15 there will be a service at 10.30am. There will also be an open house coffee morning in the Methodist schoolroom on Tuesday, September 17 from 10–11.30am. All welcome. Meanwhile, the church now has its own website, which is worth visiting, and can be found at http://www.cliffordmc.org.uk.

St Luke’s Church: there will be a holy communion service on Sunday, September 15 at 11am.

Windmill Hill Soapbox Derby: after last year’s success, the soapbox derby is back on Saturday, September 14 at Windmill Road, Bramham, LS23 6LF. Again, there will be a junior race, followed by an adult race. The junior race will start at 10.30am, with the adult race beginning at 12.30pm. As last year, there will be prizes for the fastest soapbox, the best engineered soapbox, and the most recycled soapbox. Spectators will be guaranteed a fun filled day of high speed entertainment for all the family. For further information, please visit www.skid-marks.co.uk. Money raised will go to the Clifford AFC development fund.

Clifford Parish Council: the next meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 18 at 7.30pm in the village hall. All welcome.

Live Music at the Albion: bands from throughout the country will be performing live at the Albion throughout the year, normally on a Saturday evening. Meanwhile, folk evenings take place once a month on a Wednesday. These take place on the third Wednesday of each month. The next folk evening will, therefore, take place on Wednesday, September 18. Clifford AFC: bingo is now a regular event, normally on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 7.30pm in the village hall. Entrance fee of £3 includes raffle ticket. The next bingo is in September.
