A leading theatre company is to present Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility at Hazlewood Castle near Tadcaster.
The 18th century classic novel will be performed at the converted hotel on Thursday August 15 from 7pm.
This year celebrates the 200th anniversary of the classic novel.
Also being performed by the theatre production group is a production of Sense and Sensibility who are touring across the country this year.
The venue, Hazlewood Castle, is a former country residence, now a hotel, and is situated by the A1 and A64 between Aberford and Tadcaster.
The site overlooked the battlefield for the Battle of Towton in 1461, and during the persecution of Catholics through the reign of Henry VIII provided refuge for Catholic priests.
