Elland Brewery are set to launch a brand new beer called Charity at Clifford Champion Beer Festival next week.
The premiere tasting of this new tasty, fruity, hoppy brew will be at the village event on Saturday June 29, after which it will go on general sale on Monday July 1 when it will be Elland Brewery’s Head Brewers Reserve Beer for July and available in all pubs who stock Elland Brewery products.
As well as being a special ale there will be 10p for every pint sold donated to the charity “For Disability Mobility (FDM)” who provide transport for people with mobility problems in the South Leeds area.
Martin Ogley, head brewer at Elland Brewery said: “We are really proud to be able to launch this new ale at Clifford Beer Festival and to be able to support FDM, look out for Charity in pubs during July.”
Patron of the charity TV Calendar presenter Christine Talbot said: “Clifford Beer Festival is always hugely supported and it’s brilliant that Elland Brewery have developed a charity ale for FDM who work very hard to help people who find it difficult to get around.
“Everyone who comes to Clifford Beer festival can contribute to this deserving charity so here’s to a brilliant day.”
Christine will be attending Clifford Champion Beer Festival along with Harold Dickie Bird who is also a patron of FDM.
Ronald Frost, trustee of FDM said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved with Elland Brewery and Clifford Beer Festival.
“We are a small charity and it’s difficult to sustain funding so we rely on donations, £50 raised will mean a day out for a mini bus full of our clients, people who wouldn’t otherwise get out”.
Clifford Champion Beer Festival will be held in Clifford Village Hall, near Wetherby on Saturday June 29 from noon until 11pm.
Over 30 real ales and cider will be on sale along with traditional pies and refreshments.
